Photo and Video Policy
Keeping Our Players Safe
At Diamonds Netball, we love celebrating our players, their skills and their achievements. We sometimes use photos and videos on our social media, website and other promotional materials to share what we do.
We also understand that children and young people’s images can be misused online, including being changed or manipulated using AI. The safety, privacy and wellbeing of our players will always come first.
To help keep everyone safe, we follow these simple guidelines.
1. Taking and Sharing Photos and Videos
We will only share photos and videos when we have the appropriate consent.
We will avoid sharing personal information that could identify a player, such as full names alongside images.
Where possible, we will use photos taken from a distance, from behind or over the shoulder, or images where faces are not clearly visible.
We will think carefully about which images we share and how they could potentially be misused.
We will remove location information and other hidden image data where possible, to help protect players’ privacy.
2. Keeping Images Safe Online
We will use privacy settings to help control who can view and share our photos and videos.
We will regularly check the images on our website, social media and promotional materials.
We will remove or replace images that are no longer appropriate or needed.
We will make sure coaches, volunteers and staff understand the risks of sharing children’s images and know how to help protect them.
3. Parents and Spectators
To protect all our players, parents, carers and spectators are asked to keep their mobile phones in their pockets or bags while watching training and matches.
Please do not take photos or videos of your own child or other players during sessions or matches unless Diamonds Netball has given permission.
We ask everyone to respect the privacy of all children and young people and to help us create a safe environment for everyone.
4. Consent and Communication
We will make sure parents and carers understand how photos and videos may be used and the risks involved in sharing images online.
We will explain the steps Diamonds Netball takes to help protect players’ images.
We will regularly review photo and video consent forms, at least once a year or when needed, to make sure permissions are still up to date.
Parents, carers and players can speak to us if they have any concerns about an image being taken or shared.
5. Our Commitment
At Diamonds Netball, safeguarding comes first. We want every player to feel safe, respected and proud to be part of our club.
We will continue to review our approach as technology changes and do our best to protect our players from the misuse of images online.
By working together, we can celebrate our players and their achievements while respecting their privacy and keeping them safe.
